Our clinical pregnancy rate (fetal heartbeat) for frozen donated embryos is over 63% – higher than the UK and many other European clinics. Because the 10-minute transfer is the only procedure involved (unlike standard IVF and IVF with donor eggs), you only need to stay in the Czech Republic for two days for your embryo adoption treatment.
For embryo adoption using fresh eggs and donor sperm, success rates are over 70% for Your IVF Journey patients. Fresh eggs cost more, but you may have surplus embryos from the cycle which can be transferred at a later stage. Transfer of your leftover donor embryos after that is just 815 euros.

Most embryo adoption patients start oral stimulation drugs a few weeks before travelling. (The protocol for fresh donated embryos starts earlier as you’ll be matched, and your cycle synchronised, with a specially-selected egg donor.) Our agency fee for coordinating a frozen embryo adoption cycle is £450. For embryo donation using fresh eggs, our fee is £495.

As for all treatments arranged by Your IVF Journey, we want you to succeed. If your first donor embryo cycle doesn’t end in a pregnancy, we’ll waive our agency fee altogether if you decide to have a second donor embryo cycle at the clinic.
Donor embryo treatment, also called embryo adoption, embryo donation or donor-embryo IVF, means you receive an embryo created from donated eggs and donated sperm. It’s then transferred to your uterus, usually in a frozen embryo transfer cycle. It can be a good option when both partners have significant fertility issues.
Many UK patients choose the Czech Republic because treatment is often more affordable, waiting times are usually shorter, and donor availability is generally better than in the UK. The country is also well established as a fertility-treatment destination and popular with international patients seeking donor treatment.
Donor embryo IVF can be suitable if female partners have low ovarian reserve, advanced maternal age, or a history of repeated IVF failure using their own eggs. On the male side, severe male factor infertility, a genetic condition, or azoospermia, may mean donor-embryo treatment is the best choice.
No. Embryo adoption is a treatment term, not a legal adoption process. It’s another name for donor embryo treatment. The donated embryo is transferred as part of a fertility-treatment cycle, and the patient who gives birth is treated as the child’s legal mother in most jurisdictions. The ultimate legal position depends on local laws, but it’s not the same process as adopting a child.
Yes. Donor embryo treatment is legal in the Czech Republic and is provided within a regulated fertility framework. Donation is anonymous, and clinics must follow national and EU rules on safety, screening and tissue handling. This is one reason why the Czech Republic is a trusted destination for treatment using donated embryos.
Yes. In the Czech Republic, donor eggs, donor sperm and donated embryos are from anonymous donors. Patients receive certain non-identifying information about their donor(s), but not their identity. This differs from the UK, where donor-conceived children can usually access identifying information about donors when they turn 18.
Not currently. Czech fertility law requires treatment to be provided to heterosexual couples only. That means single women and female same-sex couples are not currently eligible for donor-embryo treatment at Czech clinics. This is an important point to check early if you’re comparing fertility treatment abroad options.
The usual legal upper age limit for the female patient in the Czech Republic is 48 years plus + 364 days at the time of treatment. This wider age eligibility is one reason some patients look at Czech clinics when they don’t meet criteria elsewhere in the UK or Europe.

Often, yes. For many patients, donor embryo treatment in the Czech Republic can still work out significantly cheaper than UK private treatment, even after flights, medication, accommodation and support costs. Cost is also one reason patients look abroad more generally.
Usually, the visit is short. For many donor embryo patients, the in-person part of treatment can be a two-day trip, because most preparation happens at home before travel. That makes the Czech Republic especially attractive to UK patients who want a simpler, lower-disruption fertility trip. Treatment can even be timed to take place at weekends at some Czech clinics – including ours.
Often, no – or at least a much shorter one than patients expect. One of the advantages of established Czech clinics is good donor availability and/or a good range of donor embryos already created and frozen. That can make treatment planning faster and more predictable, especially compared with services where donor access is limited or slow.
Matching is usually based on physical characteristics, blood group compatibility, and other factors. Clinics aim for the closest possible match. You can’t select donors from a list, but you should receive clear information about how the matching process works. Photos of donor-embryo recipients can sometimes be provided to assist with matching.
